The Canterbury Fire Department consists of 1 person on duty every weekday excluding holidays from 0730-1600. There is a part time fire chief who works 3 days a week and who oversees the operation of the department. We also rely on call and per diem firefighters to supplement our response capabilities during the day and to answer calls on weekends or after hours. 

Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Canterbury Fire Rescue Department to protect life, property, and lessen the environmental impact by providing effective emergency services related to fire suppression, response, specialized rescues, and hazardous materials mitigation. Canterbury Fire & Rescue Department personnel take a pro-active role in reducing the impact of such emergencies related to public education, risk reduction education, fire prevention, community planning, and operational training. All services provided to the Town of Canterbury and communities will be delivered in the most efficient and effective manner to internal and external customers.

Our vision is to continuously improve our level of service to provide for the safety of the residents and visitors of the Town of Canterbury.
