Coming soon to a Transfer Station near you!

Saturday, May 24th 2025, (yes, we know it’s Memorial Day weekend, but it has been 8 years since Canterbury’s last event and this date was available!)

Do you have any half used “hazardous” waste containers sitting in the corner of your garage, basement or shed? Do you want to get rid of it before it spills everywhere?

Now is your chance! Come to the Transfer Station just past the burn pit on the right hand side.

Hours:
Between 10 and 12 with a limit, per household, on how much you can bring (5 gallons or 20 pounds).
Between 12 and 2 PM, no limits on amount, however, when $$$ allocated for event is reached, it will be shut down.

Note: Burn pit will NOT be accepting any brush on HHW day!

Check out this flyer to see what materials will be accepted!

Also note that laxtex paint will NOT be accepted as hazardous waste. Our town is able to accept that as regular waste once it has been dried out.
